This project includes the 8-span, 1,101’-6” long bridge over the Buffalo River and approximately 0.4 miles of S.R. 13 roadway approaches in Perry County, Tennessee. Highlights of this project include clearing and grubbing, placement of graded solid rock and unclassified embankment materials, gas and water utility relocations, removal of the 31-span, 1,002’-6” long existing bridge, bridge work, base stone, asphalt paving, and the construction of a canoe launch facility. The new bridge over the environmentally sensitive Buffalo River includes drilled shaft pier foundations in soil and rock, driven pile abutment foundations, and up to 146’-6” long, 72” BT beams.  During the erection of the beams and placement of the bridge deck, temporary, short term river closures are being utilized to ensure the safety of the recreational, boating public and construction crews.
