At the time of award, this TDOT project was the largest contract ever awarded by the State of Tennessee and by the time of its conclusion in 2020, it was the largest one ever completed by the Department.  The project was 2.288 miles long and consisted of 9 new bridges, widening the Olgiati bridge over the Tennessee River, and included construction of 45 retaining walls.  In addition to the bridges and over 270,000 sf. of wall work, the project also included reworking the drainage, concrete paving, curb and gutter, and sidewalks of six cross streets.
